I love it. This ‘doomsday’ device from ThinkGeek is great. Oh, and it’s a 4 port USB hub.

It even comes with it’s own keys, which act as the ‘fail safe’ on the Doomsday hub. First you have to turn it on. Then you have to flip a toggle switch. Then turn your key. After that your 1 red button press from whatever it is you need to blow up.

Might make a neat gift for the geek in your life this Christmas!

If you could use an extra hundred bucks, head over to How2Blogger (another project of mine) and enter the contest I’m having there this month.

how2It’s pretty simple to enter How2Blogger’s $100 Super Sexy Holiday ‘How To’ Contest. You can write a ‘How To’ post, you can stumble the site, make some comments, or subscribe to the feed. Or, if you’re feeling really adventurous and really want that hundred bucks, you can do them all.

Or, if you don’t need the money but just need to know how to do something like grow a mullet, then make sure you head over to How2Blogger where you can learn lots of great stuff like that.

Evel Knievel Tribute Video

I found this video on YouTube showing some of Evel Knievel performing some of best jumps as well as showing a few rough landings. What a legend!

I loved watching Evel Knievel when I was a kid. There have been many daredevils, but it’s going to be a long time before anybody captures the hearts of American’s like “America’s Legendary Daredevil.”

evilk

He did everything, from jumping buses and cars to trying to jump the Grand Canyon on a rocket powered motorcycle. He jumped fountains and all sorts of things, and not only did he jump them, but he crashed to. And when he crashed it was spectacular. It’s amazing that he lived as long as he did if you think about some of the things that he tried.

Nobody was better at branding himself than Knievel. He made a fortune on his image alone - of course he risked his life to create that image, but if you ask somebody to think of a daredevil, there’s only one name that comes to mind.

Knievel’s son Robbie followed in his father’s footsteps becoming a daredevil himself. He even jumped a portion of the Grand Canyon like his father had attempted to do so long before.

Many of Knievel’s records and stunts have been broken - but nobody really cares because it’s the name and the image, the daredevil and the person that is going to be remembered.

gladiators

“American Gladiators,” the show that ran from 1989 - 1996 featuring muscle strapped ‘Gladiators’ squaring off against your neighbor and other ‘everyday’ people in various forms of physical combat and competition, is set to return to T.V. in January on NBC. Read more… »

It’s too bad that Ben lost his fight tonight against Tommy on the Ultimate Fighter 6. I was rooting for Ben, mostly because I imagine if I were a cage fighter, I’d be like Ben.

I think he described his style as Jeet Kun Do. Awesome. I loved Bruce Lee growing up, always wanted to be like him. Read more… »

Alright, I’m ashamed. Not really. Kinda. A little bit.

new york

Have you seen this show? “I Love New York” on VH1? One day a while ago I was flipping channels and came across it and watched an episode. Well good thing is, I have to watch it every week now and I’m not exactly sure why. This is season 2 - I guess I missed season 1 of I love New York. Don’t know if I really missed much. Read more… »

Dude, if these guys have a chance at getting cast in a martial arts movie - I might have to bust out the nun-chucks (the foam ones of course).

You might have noticed in the BlogRush widget in the sidebar of EverythingBlogger. I thought I would give the service a try - I hate having too many off site widgets. Don’t you hate landing on a site that takes 3 minutes to load? Me too. So I try to keep the widgets to a minimum on the site - but I thought it was time to check out BlogRush.

BlogRushIf you don’t know what BlogRush is, you should check out their video that explains the service. Basically, by putting the widget in my sidebar, my post titles will be shown on other blogs that have the widget. You earn credits by how many times your widget is viewed and that translates to how many times your posts are shown.

You also get credits for referring other bloggers to use the widget, so we’ll see how it goes. If you haven’t tried BlogRush yet, maybe you should. A few new readers is always nice.

I just came across a neat, very new blog called Geek Parenting. Because let’s face it, even geeks have kids.

The blog is written by Amy - a self professed geek. And it features a bunch of parenting tips for geeks who have produced offspring.

geekpI’m excited about this site because I like the concept as I consider myself a bit of a geek and have recently had a son. The site is new, but already has some interesting posts including The Top 10 Holiday Gifts For Your Oddball Child. There’s some pretty neat toys on there that I might be getting for myself the kiddo this Christmas.

Not only are the some interesting posts, but Geek Parenting has a really nice layout and really stands out among the billions of blogs now out there. So, good luck Amy with Geek Parenting - I can’t wait to read more!
