datmoney

Written by Jay - a.k.a. ‘Dat’ - DatMoney.com is a relatively new blog in the blogosphere as it was started in November. But don’t let that fool you, because the blogger behind DatMoney is an experienced blogger having run a wide variety of blogs on different topics.

DatMoney is a blog focused on blogging tips and helping bloggers learn how to earn money with their blogging. Even though DatMoney is a newer blog, Jay has already started it off with a good number of posts. And a lot of those posts have to do with blogging on Blogger, like this one about editing your template in Blogger with screenshots and explanation - which is nice since a lot of people learn visually, I know I do. I know that when I used to have a blog on Blogger that it has it’s own little nuances - but sometimes it’s hard to find good ‘how to’ tips on using Blogger even though it’s owned by google and is a huge website. So when a blogger using Blogger contributes some good tips, it’s going to help a lot of people out.

Jay also talks about a lot of other aspects of blogging, things like how to increase your page rank. What’s cool about this is that Jay is taking DatMoney through all of these steps as he’s blogging about it, so you’ll get to see a direct correlation between his articles and how they effect his blog.

So if you’re looking for some help with blogging or trying to make money from blogging, check out DatMoney as you’ll get a lot of good tips that’ll definitely help you with your online endeavors.

Here’s the commercial that’s been running for the upcoming return of the series “American Gladiators.”

One of the things that I thought made that show really great was how cheese it was. I hope that the new show somehow captures that same cheesiness in the retelling - if they take themselves too seriously - than it might not be as fantastically awesome as the original.

Looking at this commercial I think it’s safe to assume that they’ve captured the original’s flavor - so hopefully it’ll be worth it. Maybe I’ll start training now since it was always a dream of mine to be on that show.

I can’t wait for the new “American Gladiators!”

Bathroom Design Pro dot Com touts itself as the “Online Bathroom Design Site.” I guess it could be…sometime in the future. Right now the site has just been launched.

BathroomDesignPro has a really nice, elegant design. Beyond that there are a few articles talking about bathroom makeovers and bathroom decorations - hopefully more well thought and written articles will follow on the site.

As far as niche affiliate marketing sites, this is a well designed one - now we’ll just have to see how well it fares in that market.

I just finished watching the third 2-hour block of the mini-series “Tin Man” on the Sci Fi Channel. The mini-series enjoyed a heavy marketing campaign leading up to it’s premier last Sunday which may have contributed to my disappointment upon watching the full series.

I felt as though there was a huge amount of potential to remake L. Frank Baum’s classic “Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” But with that potential, there was also a good chance that it could bomb in shadow of such a fantastic story. Read more… »

Like his coach on the Ultimate Fighter 6, Tommy Speer is a strong wrestler who grew up on a crop and dairy farm in Elgin, Minnesota. His coach, Matt Hughes, one of the most decorated UFC fighters ever, grew up on a farm as well. Hughes credits much of his success to the hard labor of the farm which developed a natural strength that overwhelms many of his opponents.

Tommy Speer has similar strength. So far on this season of The Ultimate Fighter, he looks like he is one of the strongest guys living in the Ultimate Fighter house. In his last match in the quarterfinals against Ben Saunders, Tommy Speer overwhelmed Saunders taking him down to the mat and holding him there where he pounded Saunders into submission.

Tommy has a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) record of 9 wins and 1 loss, and he’s only 22 years old. Upon graduating high school in 2003, Speer immediately began training in mixed martial arts in Rochester, Minnesota at Fourth Street Boxing. He also trains in Jiu Jitsu at Mario Roberto Jiu Jitsu. george

One of the favorites from the beginning of The Ultimate Fighter, George Sotiropoulos has established himself as a dangerous fighter after taking out Jared “J Roc” Rollins and Richie Hightower.

Matt Serra, the current UFC Welterweight Champion and coach of Sotiropoulos on The Ultimate Fighter 6, picked George to be on his team because of his talent and mixed martial arts abilities. George Sotiropoulos is a superbly well rounded fighters, probably one of the most well rounded on this season of The Ultimate Fighter on Spike TV.

George grew up in Geelong, Victoria in Australia and spent much of his time growing up looking for different thrills. He describes himself as a thrill seeker, and his quest to fight in the UFC probably ranks right up there with the other thrills he has experienced.

Today on “America’s Most Smartest Model” the competition was narrowed down to the final 3 models. The models that are still left in the competition are Angela, V.J., and Andre. Of the three, Angela has been performing strongly the last few competitions, but V.J. still has to be a favorite to win the title of America’s Most Smartest Model.

Two models were eliminated today, Aussie Rachel and Brett. Of all the models I liked Brett the most, but perhaps he was too nice. Maybe Andre will be able to upset V.J. in the finals.

I’m guessing that V.J. is going to win - he’s been the strongest throughout the whole competition, so I see it as his to win or lose. He’s definitely one of the smartest competitors on the show. Next week is the final show between the final three, so we’ll see who wins.

I’ll admit I’m not a very big fan of Angela. She’s one of those know it alls. She does look good, but her personality is annoying. Every week it seems as though she knows everything. One week she used to be a vet, another a doctor, another a mechanic, you get the picture. We’ll see if she knows enough to pull out an upset in the competition.

The Ultimate Poker Showdown

Do you ever watch poker shows? I think some of them are pretty funny. I mean it’s poker. Ok, yeah, I love playing poker and I even watch it - but sometimes it’s just too funny how serious the poker shows take it.

This is classic. A funny spoof on all the poker shows out there. I love how excited the commentators get.

Is BlogRush Worth It?

 BlogRush

The concept behind BlogRush seems sound. It seems like it should work - but is it? I’ve had BlogRush installed on this blog for about 2 weeks now. In that time I’ve earned about 17k in credits. My blog posts have been served up on other BlogRush widgets about 15k times. That’s a lot of times they’ve been on other widgets. My total clickthroughs for my blog posts equals zero.

Yes, zero. Of 15,000 times my blogposts have been served up, I’ve had nobody click through. Is that because the titles aren’t provocative enough? Perhaps. But really, even if they were more interesting would I get a click through rate that would make it worth having the widget on this blog? I doubt it.

And I was trying BlogRush on this blog as well as one of my other blogs that is a lot more popular. I had 1 click through on that blog. Hardly worth it I think.

I’m a little disappointed because it seems like this should work better - but it hasn’t. I’ve noticed on a lot of blogs that sport the widget that it’s generally placed way down at the bottom of the sidebar - like mine, so it’s unlikely many people even make it to the widget which could be a factor in the low click through rate. But still - I don’t really see much benefit to the service as it is right now.

I’ll probably leave the widget on there for another week or so, but it’s most likely going to be removed unless there is some drastic turn around. Oh well. On to the next great blog traffic generator…

I love saying ‘your mom.’ For some reason I think that might be one of the best jokes of all time. Try it: next time somebody asks you a question just answer them by saying “your mom” or “at your mom’s house” or some other form of “your mom.” And if you’re feeling especially frisky, you can get this t- shirt featuring both “your mom” and “myspace.” Perfect.
