I just saw the preview for the new Jack Black movie co-starring Mos Def “Be Kind, Rewind.”

The director of the movie is Michel Gondry of ‘The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind’ fame. I have to say I’m pretty excited to check this one out as I love both Jack Black and Mos Def.

The trailer is hilarious. Apparently the two of them work in a video store in which Jack Black manages to accidentally erase all of the videos somehow. So to cover up their problem, the two of them start filming replacement movies. So if you ever dreamed of seeing Jack Black play RoboCop, this is your chance. They also do Ghostbusters as well as a number of other 80’s classics.

I can’t wait to see this one.

Harold and Kumar Are Back

Ok. I loved ‘Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.’ So when I saw this trailer for a new H and K - I got so excited I did a little dance around the living room. Just a little one.

I absolutely can’t wait for this movie. It looks like they have a lot of the same elements that made the first one so popular - like Neil Patrick Harris playing Neil Patrick Harris. And lots of naked girls with a couple of funny/ethnic stoners. I love it when he says “Don’t worry, it’s just a bong.” Lol.

This preview is NSFW.

I felt as though there was a huge amount of potential to remake L. Frank Baum’s classic “Wonderful Wizard of Oz.” But with that potential, there was also a good chance that it could bomb in shadow of such a fantastic story. Read more… »

The Man From Earth Movie Review

I just saw the sci-fi film by Jerome Bixby - The Man From Earth. This is one of the best, most thought provoking movies that I’ve seen in a while - probably since Children of Men.

It’s categorized as sci-fi, but really, there’s not too much sci-fi about it as far as action goes. In fact - the movie really only has one setting - the living room of the main character, John. Read more… »
