Well, today’s an exciting day here at EverythingBlogger. We’ve been accepted into the payperpost program and are very excited.
We’ve written paid reviews on different blogs before, but starting out with payperpost is nice simply because of the number of opportunities that their programs offer. There are literally hundreds of opportunities available to bloggers unlike some other programs. A few months ago we signed up with another program that offers paid reviews and we got offered exactly 1 review. It’s nice to get a paid review, but 1 in 3 months is a bit ridiculous.
Payperpost allows you to write up to 3 reviews each day on an approved blog, and once you establish yourself with payperpost you can add more blogs and increase your earnings potential.
Looking through some of the blogs that are writing for the program you’ll also see that there are a number of bloggers earning thousands of dollars each month just writing paid reviews. That’s not bad for a writing a few blog posts. A lot of the opportunities pay five dollars for a short post, while just browsing I’ve noticed some opportunities paying $45 dollars or even more. A lot of bloggers don’t earn $45 dollars a month from their blogs - so writing one post for that much would be a nice little bonus for blogging.
I’m pretty excited about starting with payperpost. Who knows, maybe we’ll earn enough for some new Wii games or a new t.v. I really need one - you’d laugh if you saw my t.v. I think.
If you haven’t checked it out, read through their website and decide if the program is something you’re interested in. Even if you only earn a little each month from it - it’ll be nice to pay a couple of bills simply by blogging.
Our paid reviews for Payperpost here at EverythingBlogger will be clearly marked - and if you’re interested in being reviewed by EverythingBlogger - check out the link at the top of the page about EB Reviews.

Written by Jay - a.k.a. ‘Dat’ - DatMoney.com is a relatively new blog in the blogosphere as it was started in November. But don’t let that fool you, because the blogger behind DatMoney is an experienced blogger having run a wide variety of blogs on different topics.
DatMoney is a blog focused on blogging tips and helping bloggers learn how to earn money with their blogging. Even though DatMoney is a newer blog, Jay has already started it off with a good number of posts. And a lot of those posts have to do with blogging on Blogger, like this one about editing your template in Blogger with screenshots and explanation - which is nice since a lot of people learn visually, I know I do. I know that when I used to have a blog on Blogger that it has it’s own little nuances - but sometimes it’s hard to find good ‘how to’ tips on using Blogger even though it’s owned by google and is a huge website. So when a blogger using Blogger contributes some good tips, it’s going to help a lot of people out.
Jay also talks about a lot of other aspects of blogging, things like how to increase your page rank. What’s cool about this is that Jay is taking DatMoney through all of these steps as he’s blogging about it, so you’ll get to see a direct correlation between his articles and how they effect his blog.
So if you’re looking for some help with blogging or trying to make money from blogging, check out DatMoney as you’ll get a lot of good tips that’ll definitely help you with your online endeavors.
If you would like your site to be included in EB Reviews - let me know here.

The concept behind BlogRush seems sound. It seems like it should work - but is it? I’ve had BlogRush installed on this blog for about 2 weeks now. In that time I’ve earned about 17k in credits. My blog posts have been served up on other BlogRush widgets about 15k times. That’s a lot of times they’ve been on other widgets. My total clickthroughs for my blog posts equals zero.
Yes, zero. Of 15,000 times my blogposts have been served up, I’ve had nobody click through. Is that because the titles aren’t provocative enough? Perhaps. But really, even if they were more interesting would I get a click through rate that would make it worth having the widget on this blog? I doubt it.
And I was trying BlogRush on this blog as well as one of my other blogs that is a lot more popular. I had 1 click through on that blog. Hardly worth it I think.
I’m a little disappointed because it seems like this should work better - but it hasn’t. I’ve noticed on a lot of blogs that sport the widget that it’s generally placed way down at the bottom of the sidebar - like mine, so it’s unlikely many people even make it to the widget which could be a factor in the low click through rate. But still - I don’t really see much benefit to the service as it is right now.
I’ll probably leave the widget on there for another week or so, but it’s most likely going to be removed unless there is some drastic turn around. Oh well. On to the next great blog traffic generator…

I love saying ‘your mom.’ For some reason I think that might be one of the best jokes of all time. Try it: next time somebody asks you a question just answer them by saying “your mom” or “at your mom’s house” or some other form of “your mom.” And if you’re feeling especially frisky, you can get this t- shirt featuring both “your mom” and “myspace.” Perfect.

I love it. This ‘doomsday’ device from ThinkGeek is great. Oh, and it’s a 4 port USB hub.
It even comes with it’s own keys, which act as the ‘fail safe’ on the Doomsday hub. First you have to turn it on. Then you have to flip a toggle switch. Then turn your key. After that your 1 red button press from whatever it is you need to blow up.
Might make a neat gift for the geek in your life this Christmas!

If you could use an extra hundred bucks, head over to How2Blogger (another project of mine) and enter the contest I’m having there this month.
It’s pretty simple to enter How2Blogger’s $100 Super Sexy Holiday ‘How To’ Contest. You can write a ‘How To’ post, you can stumble the site, make some comments, or subscribe to the feed. Or, if you’re feeling really adventurous and really want that hundred bucks, you can do them all.
Or, if you don’t need the money but just need to know how to do something like grow a mullet, then make sure you head over to How2Blogger where you can learn lots of great stuff like that.

You might have noticed in the BlogRush widget in the sidebar of EverythingBlogger. I thought I would give the service a try - I hate having too many off site widgets. Don’t you hate landing on a site that takes 3 minutes to load? Me too. So I try to keep the widgets to a minimum on the site - but I thought it was time to check out BlogRush.
If you don’t know what BlogRush is, you should check out their video that explains the service. Basically, by putting the widget in my sidebar, my post titles will be shown on other blogs that have the widget. You earn credits by how many times your widget is viewed and that translates to how many times your posts are shown.
You also get credits for referring other bloggers to use the widget, so we’ll see how it goes. If you haven’t tried BlogRush yet, maybe you should. A few new readers is always nice.
I just came across a neat, very new blog called Geek Parenting. Because let’s face it, even geeks have kids.
The blog is written by Amy - a self professed geek. And it features a bunch of parenting tips for geeks who have produced offspring.
I’m excited about this site because I like the concept as I consider myself a bit of a geek and have recently had a son. The site is new, but already has some interesting posts including The Top 10 Holiday Gifts For Your Oddball Child. There’s some pretty neat toys on there that I might be getting for myself the kiddo this Christmas.
Not only are the some interesting posts, but Geek Parenting has a really nice layout and really stands out among the billions of blogs now out there. So, good luck Amy with Geek Parenting - I can’t wait to read more!
This is the first in a new series I’m calling EB Reviews! If you’re interested in having your blog reviewed by EverythingBlogger - for FREE! - check out the details.
A.B.C. - About Blog Contests
I love blog contests. They’re usually fun and simple and you get the chance at winning. Also, they’re great ways to promote your blog and build a little buzz around as well as back links.

There are quite a few blogs that specialize in posting blog contests. Obviously some of them are better than others. I recently came across a new one - A.B.C. - About Blog Contests.
A.B.C. is about 3 months old, but seems to be getting some decent traffic on the site which is good if you are hosting a blog contest on your blog and need to promote it. Read more… »
I signed up for a new free service today - rssHugger.
rssHugger is a new catalog/directory for bloggers looking to promote their blogs. John Chow recently had a review of the program here.
