Read Your Favorite Blogs (EverythingBlogger!) with A Blog Reader
Posted on Nov 15, 2007 under Blogging, RSS |So do you have 10 different blogs that you like to read on a regular basis? Does it take an hour to page through those blogs. Well, it’s time to start taking charge of your blog reading life by simplifying the process and speeding it up using the RSS feed of each blog and a reader.
What’s an RSS feed?
RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Ok, what’s that mean for you as a reader? Well, it means you can read all of your favorite blogs without having to actually go to the site.
How do you use the RSS feed?
It’s actually super simple. All you need to do to sign up for a blog’s RSS (it’s a free subscription - it’s like a magazine delivered to your home) is click on their RSS feed - which can usually be found with a RSS button like this:

All you do is click on that button and you’ll be able to read your favorite blogs in your very own personal reader.
What’s a Blog Reader?
A blog reader is a tool that allows you to manage your various RSS feeds that you are subscribed to. The two most popular right now are BlogLines and Google Reader.
You can’t really go wrong with either. I use Bloglines and love it. It’s easy to use and now everyday instead of spending an hour or two looking through my blog subscriptions - I can skim them and read them in a fraction of the time.
So, get a reader, and sign up for your favorite feeds. You can start off by signing up for EverythingBlogger - how great is that?
